For many years I have been interested in photography, videography, and video editing, and while I had created a few small family videos I have since developed a stronger desire to learn the skill and art of video editing. In 2024 I purchased my very first adult drone and from the first flight, I was hooked. With each flight, I gained more and more experience and learned different techniques of capturing video.

All these new videos I had captured with the drone gave me tons of content to edit. While learning about flying the drone and recording video I started to understand the various aspects of recording such as frame rates and ISO and this soon led to me purchasing my first DSLR camera.

Most recently I have been learning about the functions of a DSLR camera and how the many different settings combined with lighting have a dramatic effect on the quality of the video.  Armed with such a very small amount of knowledge I felt I had the foundations on which to develop the skills required to create good quality content. Not only is this an opportunity to enhance my technical skills in videography and editing but also a chance to explore if I have the confidence and ability to deliver content to an online audience through a camera. I have never thought of myself as being confident talking to a camera before and is probably my most challenging endeavour yet.
